Educational Background

I hold an MBA and am a Chartered Marketer with a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM UK). My extensive marketing experience spans sales and distribution, FMCG, and education services in leading multinationals. I am also a Chartered Professional Manager, Certified Management Accountant, and qualified in Personnel Management, Industrial Law and Relations, and Advertising and Promotions. As a visiting lecturer at several educational institutions, my broad skill set enables me to collaborate effectively with fellow board members in advancing our mission.

Toastmasters Journey

My 19-year Toastmasters journey began as the Charter President of BCIS Toastmasters in Sri Lanka (District 82). I have since served in every elected district officer role and seven additional district leadership roles. As District Director 2016–2017, I led District 82 to a World’s No. 3 ranking, with a record 98% Distinguished Club Program (DCP) score, the highest ever to date. For 19 consecutive years, Toastmasters has been a transformative leadership journey, shaping me through its Core Values and spirit of servant leadership.

I had the honor of serving two consecutive terms as Region 13 Advisor (2020–2022), supporting 10 districts through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. My contributions also include global committees such as the Region Advisor Handbook Revision (2022), District Strategies Guidebook (2022), and the Region Advisor Selection (2023).

In 2023, I was nominated as the International Director Candidate for Region 13—an opportunity that allowed me to engage with 90 District Trios, 16 Board Members, 16 Past International Presidents, and 10 Past International Directors, deepening my understanding of Toastmasters’ global mission, cultural diversity, and strategic direction.

Volunteer Leadership

With over two decades of experience leading strategic initiatives across both corporate and non-profit sectors beyond Toastmasters, I bring a proven track record of impactful leadership:

As the Founder and Charter President of the Pest Managers Association of Sri Lanka, I was instrumental in establishing the association, setting industry standards, and developing comprehensive SOPs, policies, and protocols.

Additionally, my role on the Advisory Board of a Community Welfare Association of a gated community of 1,210 homes allowed me to design and implement sustainable strategies that addressed the evolving needs of its residents.

Family Foundation

As the only child of two dedicated government servants, my father, a Post Master, and my mother, a Vice Principal and English-trained teacher, I am deeply grateful for the education, discipline, and values they instilled in me. I first learned the essence of servant leadership from my mother, who served as a Commissioner of the Girl Guide Association of Sri Lanka.

My greatest strength has always been my family—my wife, twin son, and daughter, who have wholeheartedly supported my Toastmasters journey, often sacrificing precious time together, allowing me to pursue my passion. My son is now an Architect, and my daughter has recently earned her MBA in Vancouver, after completing her degree in International Business.

Both my wife, who serves as a secretary at Airport & Aviation Services of Sri Lanka, and I set to retire by October 2025. With this transition, I will be able to dedicate myself fully to the responsibilities of an International Director, embracing this new chapter of life with purpose and commitment to global service, beyond the region.
